City of Charlestown Wastewater System Assessment

The City of Charlestown's engineering firm (Jacobi, Toombs and Lanz) provided a presentation at the March 1st, 2021 Charlestown City Council meeting regarding Charlestown's wastewater treatment plant. This presentation included an assessment of our current plant, collection systems and major pumping stations, as well as an assessment of expansion alternatives. Charlestown's aged system is nearing capacity, becoming increasingly costly to maintain, and in need of significant major improvements. This presentation addresses the potential costs and other factors involved with an on-site expansion project, rehabilitation of the current system only, or a new wastewater treatment plant.
